Your Returns Are Killing Your Margins. We’ll Buy Them.

If you sell on Takealot, Amazon, or any online marketplace, you already know the maths. Returns run anywhere from 5% to 30% depending on your category. Every returned item is a margin hit, and most of them can’t go back on the shelf as new, thanks to opened boxes, courier stickers, scuffed packaging, and Takealot’s own return labels plastered across everything.

So what do you actually do with them? Let them pile up? Mark them down and cannibalise your full-price sales? Sell to a liquidator at cents on the rand?

Or sell them to Epic Deals.

Sell Your Stock › Marketplace Seller Solutions

We buy your customer returns, open-box stock, salvage, and excess inventory at prices that are meaningfully better than liquidation, because we don’t flip your products to another middleman. We sell them ourselves, on our own retail platform, to over 40,000 customers a year who specifically come to us looking for quality open-box and pre-owned products.

Your problem stock becomes our product range. And you get paid for it instead of writing it off.

What We Buy From Marketplace Sellers

Customer returns (all conditions)

Opened, tested, used once and sent back, “changed my mind,” or genuinely faulty. We’ll buy the lot. We grade and test every item individually, so you don’t need to sort the good from the bad. That’s our job.

Damaged-box and open-box

Products that are brand new but can’t be sold as new because the packaging has been opened, dented, or covered in courier and marketplace stickers. This is our bread and butter. We have a customer base that actively seeks out open-box deals.

Excess and slow-moving inventory

Overordered? Trend shifted? Seasonal stock that didn’t move? Instead of marking it down and eroding your brand pricing on Takealot, sell it to us in bulk. We handle the clearance through a separate retail channel so your primary listings stay clean.

Amazon liquidation and FBA returns

We already work with Amazon’s liquidation programme. If you’re an Amazon SA seller dealing with FBA returns or excess inventory, we’re a natural partner. We understand the condition grading, the manifests, and the reality that “customer return” covers everything from “never opened” to “clearly used for a week.”

Shopify, WooCommerce, and independent e-commerce stock

Running your own store? Returns and overstock are just as painful without a marketplace handling logistics for you. We buy from independent e-commerce sellers too. Same process, same pricing advantage.

Why We Pay More Than Liquidators

Traditional liquidators buy your returns, then sell them in bulk to resellers, flea market traders, or auction platforms. Each step in that chain takes a margin. By the time your stock reaches an end consumer, it’s been marked up three or four times, which means the price you were originally offered was rock bottom. It had to be, for everyone in the chain to eat.

We skip the chain entirely. Your customer returns land in our facility. We grade them, test them, photograph them, and list them on epicdeals.co.za, where they sell to consumers at proper retail pricing. One transaction. One margin.

Because we capture the full retail value, we can afford to offer you significantly more for the stock in the first place. You get a better price. We get quality inventory. The consumer gets a good deal. Everyone’s margins improve except the middlemen who are no longer involved.

How It Works

Tell us what you’ve got

Email [email protected] with a stock list, manifest, or even just photos. Include quantities, product types, and approximate condition breakdown if you have it. Don’t have a clean list? Send what you have.

We make you an offer

Based on current market values and our retail pricing data, you’ll get a clear, per-item or per-lot valuation. No hidden deductions. No processing fees.

We collect (or you ship)

For smaller lots, you ship to us and we cover the courier cost. For larger volumes, we arrange collection from your warehouse. Nationwide.

You get paid

EFT within days of receiving and confirming the stock. For ongoing partnerships, we set up regular collection schedules and payment cycles that match your operations.

Prefer consignment? If you’d rather maximise your returns and are comfortable with a longer timeline, our consignment model lets us retail your stock through our platform and pay you as items sell. This typically yields a higher total return, especially on higher-value items.

Built for Ongoing Partnerships, Not One-Off Clearances

Most marketplace sellers don’t have a returns problem once. They have it every week. That’s why we set up ongoing partnerships with scheduled collections, agreed pricing frameworks, and regular reporting.

Once we understand your product mix and return volumes, we can move to a standing arrangement where you send us returns on a weekly or monthly cycle. No renegotiating each time. No wondering what to do with this week’s batch. Just a reliable channel that turns your biggest operational headache into a consistent revenue recovery stream.

Already Selling on Takealot or Amazon?

For Takealot Sellers

You know the pain of returns arriving with Takealot stickers, opened packaging, and no way to relist them as new. You also know that Takealot’s seller support won’t solve this for you. We will. We’ve built an entire retail category around open-box products with imperfect packaging, because our customers care about what’s inside the box, not the stickers on the outside.

For Amazon SA Sellers

We’re already buying Amazon liquidation stock directly. If you’re an FBA seller dealing with returns, unfulfillable inventory, or stock you need to clear before long-term storage fees kick in, talk to us. We understand Amazon’s condition codes, manifest formats, and the difference between “Customer Damaged” and “Warehouse Damaged.”

For Shopify & Independent Sellers

You don’t have a marketplace handling your returns logistics, which means you’re dealing with it all yourself: customer communication, return shipping, inspection, restocking decisions. Let us take the end-of-life stock off your hands so you can focus on selling new inventory. That’s the highest-leverage use of your time, and you know it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the minimum order value?
We focus on stock worth R1,500+ per unit, though we’re flexible for bulk lots of lower-value items. If the total lot is substantial, we’ll consider mixed-value shipments.
Do you buy stock from outside South Africa?
Our primary operation is South African, but if you’re shipping into SA or have stock sitting in a local warehouse, we can work with you regardless of where your business is registered.
What happens to items that are genuinely broken?
We grade everything individually. Working items are refurbished and retailed. Damaged items are assessed for parts value or component recovery. You get paid for the full lot. We handle the sorting.
How do you handle pricing for mixed lots?
We assess per-item and provide a blended offer. You’ll see the breakdown, so you know what’s driving the valuation. No black-box pricing.
Will this undercut our own retail pricing?
We’re mindful of this. We sell under the Epic Deals brand, and we price based on the pre-owned/open-box market. Our pricing doesn’t interfere with your new-product listings on Takealot or elsewhere. In fact, many sellers find that removing open-box inventory from their own listings actually improves their average selling price.
Can we exclude certain product categories?
Yes. If there are items you’d rather handle differently, just exclude them from the lot. We’re flexible.
